The dove is a right tributary of the Saale in Saxony-Anhalt , which south of the Elbe in the Mosigkauer Heide at Dessau , southwest of the local part Möst the town Raguhn-Jeßnitz (in FFH area " Pigeon sources and floodplain at Möst"), springs .

It flows into the Saale shortly before the mouth of the Saale at Barby .

Origin of name

The name comes from the Old High German toub or the Middle High German toup. This means deaf, empty, void, worthless but also sluggish - which means that a slowly flowing stream can be assumed.
