The Taubequellen is a nature reserve in the town of Raguhn-Jeßnitz in the Anhalt-Bitterfeld district in Saxony-Anhalt .

The nature reserve with the registration number NSG 0162 is 48.5  hectares in size. It is part of the FFH area "Taube-Quellen und Auengebiet bei Möst" and surrounded by the landscape protection area "Middle Elbe". The area has been under protection since the beginning of 1996 (date of regulation: December 12, 1995). The responsible lower nature conservation authority is the district of Anhalt-Bitterfeld.

The nature reserve is located west of Schierau in the Middle Elbe Biosphere Reserve on the edge of the Mulde valley. In the largely wooded area falter in the West in the transition to Mosigkauer heath pine forests that the pigeon valley in a foliage on the hillside mixed forest with common oak , silver birch , hornbeam and sycamore in the tree layer and Rowan in the shrub layer passes. Parts of the nature reserve are flooded year-round due to the construction activities of the Elbe beaver that occurs here. While the otherwise occurring tree species are dying off, here and in the area of ​​the areas that are flooded in spring and early summer, an alder forest with swamp sedge , rush , swamp hairline , swamp sword lily , swamp marigold , swamp forgotten me-not and turf clogs . Shivering grass harrows , wood anemones , true meadowsweet and golden buttercups also grow in less watery areas .

Slender sedge and flood swaths have developed along the pigeon . Settle in clearings and a. Broom bushes .

In the eastern part of the nature reserve, the pigeon valley changes into remnants of a low terrace . A pipe grass and pedunculate oak forest with buckthorn in the shrub layer and u. a. Pipe grass , grass clown , soft honeydew grass and shore wolf trapp in the herb layer. In addition, grassland areas with species-poor bedstraw foxtail meadows can be found here.

In addition to the Elbe beaver, a rich avifauna can be found in the nature reserve . The many dying trees provide a suitable habitat for cave-dwelling bird species in particular, including stock dove , black and middle woodpecker , wryneck , redstart , pied flycatcher and marsh tit .

The nature reserve largely borders on wooded areas. In the south it borders on a road, which in turn is connected to agricultural areas .
