The Nedlitzer Niederung is a nature reserve in the town of Zerbst / Anhalt in the Anhalt-Bitterfeld district in Saxony-Anhalt .

The nature reserve with the registration number NSG 0037 is 160.29  hectares in size. It is largely part of the FFH area almost completely "Upper Nuthe-runs" and the conservation area surrounded "West Fläming". The area has been under protection since May 1, 1961 (date of regulation: March 30, 1961). The responsible lower nature conservation authority is the district of Anhalt-Bitterfeld.

The nature reserve lies east of Deetz and southwest of Nedlitz , both districts of Zerbst / Anhalt in the Fläming Nature Park . A mosaic of moist meadows and forests in the lowlands of the Hagendorfer Nuthe and the eastern part of the Deetz pond created by the damming of the Nuthe are protected. The mostly moist meadows are often characterized as honey grass meadows and partly as foxtail meadows. Meadow rennet , common stalk grass and red fescue settle on drier locations . Some of the meadows are characterized as Kohldiestelwiesen . Here u. a. Sedges , cuckoo carnations and fluffy meadow oats .

The banks of the Deetz pond are largely covered by reed beds with swamp sedge, false cypress reeds and water swaths. The water surface is partially covered by floating leaf associations. The pond is used for fishing and is also used for local recreation . There is a bathing area on the north bank outside the nature reserve.

The forests in the nature reserve are predominantly formed by alder forest and black cherry-alder-ash forest. In the drier peripheral areas, mixed oak forests are covered with white elm and field elm . In places near-natural forests have been replaced by pine forests.

The swamp forests in the nature reserve are the habitat of crane and common snipe . The meadows offer Whinchat , Meadow Pipit and Common Snipe, the reed beds around the pond Deetzer the marsh harrier suitable habitat.

The nature reserve is surrounded by agricultural land and forests. The grasslands in the nature reserve are predominantly used intensively, which destroys near-natural meadow communities.
