The Cösitzer Teich is a lake in Saxony-Anhalt ( Germany ).

The pond is located in Saxony-Anhalt in the Anhalt-Bitterfeld district between the Zörbiger districts of Cösitz and Löbersdorf and Radegast , a district of the city of Southern Anhalt . It covers an area of ​​approximately 38.76 hectares.

history

The Cösitzer Teich is a shallow lake that was created around 1936 when a brown coal mining area subsided. On October 19, 1967 , it was declared a nature reserve. The Cösitzer pond was a popular fishing water in the region until the sport of fishing was banned at the beginning of 2002 for reasons of nature conservation. This caused a stir among fishing enthusiasts, especially since the water has been used for over 50 years and has been maintained by the local angling club. The jetty built in the area of ​​the pond was not dismantled after the withdrawal of the fishing club and still bears witness to its decades of use.
