Schleesen is a nature reserve in the city of Zerbst / Anhalt in the Anhalt-Bitterfeld district in Saxony-Anhalt .

The nature reserve with the registration number NSG 0039 is 49.58  hectares . 21.88 hectares of the area are designated as a total reserve and left to natural development. The nature reserve is part of the FFH area "Golmengliner Forst und Schleesen im Fläming" and in the area of ​​the city of Zerbst / Anhalt from the landscape protection area "West Fleming" and in the area of ​​the city of Coswig (Anhalt) , to which the nature reserve partially borders, from the landscape protection area Surrounding "Roßlauer Vorfläming". The area has been under protection since May 1, 1961 (date of regulation: March 30, 1961). The responsible lower nature conservation authority is the district of Anhalt-Bitterfeld.

The nature reserve, which consists of two parts, is located north of Stackelitz , a district of Coswig (Anhalt) in the Fläming Nature Park . It protects a near-natural sessile oak and beech forest in the midst of extensive pine forests. The forests are remnants of an earlier in Plenterbetrieb managed high forest . Some of the beech stands are over 150 years old, some of the sessile oaks are over 180 years old. The natural regeneration of the forest stands was initiated in the late 20th century by umbrella strikes.

The shrub layer is in the typical form of the oak-beech forest u. a. Formed by corn grass , finger sedge and pill sedge . Blueberries and lingonberries grow in nutrient -poor locations, while nodding pearl grass , forest equestrian grass , small periwinkle , forest barley and woodruff grow in more nutrient-rich beech forests .

The nature reserve is u. a. Habitat for black woodpecker , stock dove , common raven and wood warbler . Small pools of water are used by the common toad as a spawning area.

The nature reserve is almost completely surrounded by other forests. The eastern sub-area borders in the east on Landesstraße 120 between Stackelitz and Medewitz (on Brandenburg area Landesstraße 841).
