Team Berlin 1

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Team Berlin 1 is Germany's most successful synchronized figure skating team .

history

The Berlin 1 team has won 20 German championship titles in a row since it was founded in 1994. Internationally, the Berliners have been one of the top teams of the best synchronized figure skating nations alongside Sweden , Finland , USA , Russia and Canada for years .

Title wins at ISU competitions such as the "Spring Cup" ( Italy ), "Prague Cup" ( Czech Republic ), "Neuchâtel Trophy" ( Switzerland ) and silver medals at the "Cup of Berlin" ( Germany ) and the "Zagreb Snowflakes Trophy" ( Croatia ) finally established the Berlin 1 team as the top team. In parallel to the current competition season, TV appearances and ice shows are also part of the Berlin 1 team's repertoire. For example, the team can show engagements for the ARD's annual ice gala , Eurosport , Holiday on Ice , the Media Markt ice gala and music videos, also as guests of Stefan Raab or at a world premiere of Audi AG in Ingolstadt .

composition

The team consists of around 20 runners. According to the ISU regulations, 16 runners form a "synchronous unit" in competitions. A team reduction was decided by the International Skating Union (ISU) in June 2006. The teams have been reduced from 20 to 16 regular runners. This should enable many teams to survive and remain competitive in the long term.

For several years the Swedish trainer Andrea Dohany (multiple world champion with Team Surprise) supported the Berlin team as a technical and choreographic consultant.
