Techtronic Industries Co. Ltd. ( TTI ) is a Chinese group of companies that primarily develops, designs, produces and markets power tools for the do-it-yourself and professional construction sector, as well as electrical household appliances . TTI is headquartered in Hong Kong . TTI is, behind Black & Decker and Bosch , the third largest manufacturer in the industry worldwide. The TTI share has been listed on the Hong Kong Stock Exchange (HKEx) since December 1990 and is tradable in the USA via the ADR Level 1 program .

Initially, TTI was only a contract manufacturer of rechargeable batteries and battery-operated devices for the low-cost brands of large US retail chains (e.g. for Sears, Roebuck & Co. ). TTI later acquired the rights to several well-known brands, but subsequently relocated their production largely to the Chinese hinterland ( Pearl River Delta ) for cost reasons .

The company was founded in May 1985 by Horst Julius Pudwill (previously sales and marketing representative for VW in Asia since the 1970s ) and the Chinese Roy Chi Ping Chung. Horst Pudwill was both CEO and Chairman until the end of 2007 . The two offices have been separated since January 2008: Horst Pudwill remains Chairman, the new CEO is Joseph Galli junior.

Brands
