Terry Ann "Teri" Garr (born December 11, 1947 in Lakewood ) is an American actress .

Teri Garr was born the daughter of actor Eddie Garr and dancer Phyllis Garr . She made her film debut in A Swingin 'Affair (1963) and in 1983 for her role in the travesty - comedy Tootsie for an Oscar nomination as best supporting actress. Garr had her last film appearance in 2007 in the short film God Out the Window .

She was married to actor John O'Neil from 1993 to 1996 and has had an adopted daughter since 1993. Garr has had multiple sclerosis since 1983 . The disease was diagnosed in 1999, and in 2002 it became public.
