Reviews

Roger Ebert compared the film in the Chicago Sun-Times on August 22, 1983 with the pilot episode of a television sitcom. The basic idea offers " real " comedic possibilities that the film authors would waste through bad gags, awkward fantasy scenes, rigid characters and unbelievable situations. This is all the worse because the line-up with Michael Keaton, Teri Garr and Martin Mull is " very promising ".

Janet Maslin wrote in the New York Times on August 26, 1983 that the comedy would be funny if it contained jokes (" would be funny if it had jokes "). Michael Keaton and Teri Garr could be liked; the initial situation offers opportunities that are not used.

Awards

The film won the Young Artist Award for Best Comedy in 1984 . Frederick Koehler was nominated for the Young Artist Award.

background

The film grossed approximately $ 64.8 million in US cinemas .
