action

Terkel is a normal boy who goes to class 7a, together with his best friend Jason, who always carries an iron pipe with him. Terkel and Jason are playing with a Game Boy in the school yard when one day a strange man in a green panda sweater, who introduces himself as Gunnar, speaks to them and tells them that Terkel has just sat on a spider, which Terkel replies : "Oh, that doesn't matter, it's just jeans, you can wash it." And the nightmare begins ...

Terkel's teacher has a fatal accident and the new teacher in the class is the weird Gunnar. Terkel's parents get married and the two “bad boys” from his class, Sten and Saki, persuade Terkel to steal beer for them. When Terkel's uncle Stuart notices this, he beats Sten and Saki, for which they blame Terkel, which is why they start bullying him and no one seems to want to help him.

One day the overweight girl from the class, Dorit, hands Terkel a love letter. When Sten and Saki notice this, they call them two lovers. Terkel is torn: he wants to defend Dorit, but instead, to keep his face from the boys, he calls Dorit a fat cow. Dorit gets so close that she throws herself out of the window on the fourth floor and dies. Terkel later found death threats on his school desk and on his ceiling, on a stone that was thrown through his window, and in his notebook ... His parents are no help to him - his mother only tells him about the diseases he can catch and his father's vocabulary is limited to the word "no".

Gunnar organizes a school trip to observe the black-spotted salamander, who was discovered in the forest in front of the city, but Terkel doesn't want to go. He asks his parents to be allowed to stay at home, but they do not allow him to do so. On the bus ride, Terkel wants to sit next to his best friend Jason, but when Sten and Saki ask him if he would like to sit with them, he does so, which annoys Jason. In the forest, Sten and Saki ask him again if he would like to sleep with them in the tent, which he does too. He gets a bit of a shock when Saki later returns to the tent with a black eye and tells him that Jason hit him. Terkel believes Jason is turning away from him when Sten tells him that Dorit was Jason's sister. Terkel becomes very scared and thinks that all of the death threats came from Jason for driving his sister to suicide. When they go to bed, Terkel finds a dead cat in his sleeping bag and shortly afterwards receives a text message from Jason's cell phone, which says "I'll make you cold." Sten and Saki advise Terkel to tell Gunnar about what he is doing. To be safe from Jason, Terkel wants Gunnar to come with him into the forest, where he will tell him everything. Then he decides to call Jason and clarify everything with him. Gunnar protests, but Jason's cell phone rings, which is in Gunnar's pocket. At that moment Terkel realizes that all death threats came from Gunnar, who wants to avenge the spider on which Terkel sat down. Terkel flees and runs for his life into the forest. Gunnar finds Terkel and tries to strangle him, but at the last moment he is saved by Jason, who incapacitates Gunnar with his iron pipe.

Trivia

All characters in the German version of the film were dubbed by Bela B and the songs were re-sung by him.

Terkel's father always reads the same newspaper. Translated, her title is “Extra Hass” with the motto “Judge where others doubt”, an allusion to the Danish newspaper “Ekstra Bladet” with the motto “Opinions where others are silent”. The front page articles include "Cowboy Accused: Has Bad Sense of Humor and Smells Like Cow", "Psychopath At Large: Dressed Up As A Guard Dog And Played Dead", and "Puking Up Slim". The articles on the inside pages of the newspaper are "Police catch young stabbers" and "El Gigante fights dwarf".

At the 2005 Robert Prize , Terkel was nominated in a number of categories and won in the categories Music of the Year, Children's and Family Film of the Year, Sound of the Year, Song of the Year and the Audience Award. It was also nominated for the Bodil Prize for Best Danish Film in 2005.

Reviews

“ Animated film based on a successful Danish radio series that does not use its potential to expose hypocritical role models, but merely indulges in cheap, brutal jokes. Also disappointing in terms of craftsmanship and the design of the characters. "
