The Teufelspitze , also Teufelspitz, is 2813 m above sea level. A. (according to ÖK 2848 m above sea level ) high mountain peaks in the Tauern main ridge of the Granatspitz group in the north of East Tyrol and south-east of Salzburg . The first ascent took place on July 21, 1926 by W. Brandenstein, Henriette Hurych and F. Waldmann via the southern ascent.

The Teufelspitze is a narrow summit cut in the north central area of the Granatspitzgruppe. It is located on the Tauern main ridge on the border between Tyrol in the south-west and Salzburg in the north-east and on the border between the communities of Matrei in East Tyrol and Mittersill . The Teufelspitze lies between the bolt tower 2740 m above sea level. A. in the west and the bolt head 2920 m above sea level. A. in the south-southeast, with the Teufelspitze from the Riegelurm through the Riegelurmscharte 2670 m above sea level. A. is separated. To the east of the Teufelspitze lies the Amertal Lake .
Promotion opportunities
For the ascent via the south ascent, the Riegelurmscharte is bypassed south to east, whereby the ascent takes place in a channel to the left of the southeast edge ( UIAA III- ). Another climbing option is the northeast edge, also known as the Teufelskante, which was first climbed on August 6, 1931 by R. Klose and F. Liederer. To do this, descend east from Schoppmanntörl into the Finsterkar at the foot of the northeastern edge and climb, among other things, over a block channel and a chimney into the gap between the fore and main summit ( UIAA IV- ).
