The series of texts and comments was founded in 1963 by Olof Gigon , Felix Heinimann and Otto Luschnat . New editions of texts and commentaries on ancient Greek and Latin authors appear in it. The series is published by Walter de Gruyter .

Current editors are Michael Dewar, Adolf Köhnken , Karla Pollmann and Ruth Scodel .
