The district Thabo Mofutsanyana is part of the province of Free State in South Africa . 736,238 inhabitants live in an area of 33,269 km² (as of October 2011). The capital is Witsieshoek .
The district is named after Thabo Mofutsanyana, a supporter of the anti-apartheid movement . He was the first black member after the SACP (South African Communist Party) opened to black Africans in 1952.
