Squidward Ferdinand Lipowsky
Thaddäus Ferdinand Lipowsky (also Thade and Lipowski or von Lipowsky ; * December 28, 1738 in St. Martin im Innkreis , † March 18, 1767 in Wiesensteig ) was a German judicial and camera clerk as well as a violinist and composer .
Life
Lipowsky came from a Bohemian noble family from Lipovice . He was initially trained at the Passau School and, like his big brother, the lawyer and historian Anton Johann Lipowsky , moved to the University of Salzburg . There he devoted himself to mathematics , physics , philosophy and law . He had already received musical training in singing and on the piano in Passau . But he was best on the violin. He was therefore accepted as a student by Leopold Mozart in Salzburg and quickly became his best student. When in 1759 students at the University of Salzburg wrote and performed the opera Musae in Parnasso Salisburgensi , Lipowsky wrote the music for the opera. The Prince Archbishop of Salzburg Sigismund III. Christoph von Schrattenbach then awarded him a silver sword. After studying for two years in Salzburg, he moved to the University of Ingolstadt , where he completed his law studies. This was followed by a practical period in Munich . There he was introduced to the higher learned society by his brother Anton Johann.
In 1763, Lipowsky was appointed justice and camera clerk in the Bavarian enclave of Wiesensteig and was given the title of judicial officer . In addition to his professional activity, he regularly composed church music for the Wiesensteig monastery . In 1766 he attracted the attention of Elector Maximilian III with his violin playing . of Bavaria and was subsequently as Hofkammerrat to Munich appointed . Shortly before he moved to Munich, he died of a fever. A few days before his death, he finished composing a funeral mass that was performed at his funeral.
The lawyer Felix Joseph von Lipowsky was his son.
