The Alliance is an association of artists from Jamaica who are musically active in dancehall, reggae and the like. The group was founded by Rodney Basil Price, better known as Bounty Killer . The group consists of Deejays or Singjays and producers, some of which have their own record label that is integrated into the Alliance (e.g. DASECA from Singjay Serani ). The most famous members are u. a. Elephant Man , Busy Signal, and Wayne Marshall . A well-known former member is e.g. B. Vybz Kartel . The Alli is often used as an abbreviation .
history
The crew was established in 2003 under the name of The Heavyweights ( The Heavyweights ) from the dancehall deejay Bounty Killer founded to promote young Deejaytalente. Founding members included Busy Signal, Wayne Marshall, Bling Dawg, Mavado, and Vybz Kartel. In 2005 Mavado founded another project to support young talent called Gully Squad . Like the Hot Head Turf group later founded by Busy Signal, this becomes part of the Alliance. In 2006 Vybz Kartel left the Alliance together with Aidonia after a dispute with founder Price. He was under great pressure. Literally he said: It is hard to shine in Bounty Killer's shadow (in about: It's hard to have shaded by Bounty Killer success ). After Kartel left the Alliance, he formed his own crew of deejays called the Portmore Empire . Since then, these two groups have competed strongly with each other, from various diss songs to riots at concerts and festivals. In 2009, The Alliance was the most popular group in Jamaica. In 2010 it was reported that Aidonia is now a permanent member of the deejay association The Alliance.
