Career
After Fame , a film about a New York performing arts school , was successfully shown in cinemas in 1980 , the US television company NBC secured the rights to the story and produced a TV series from it, which was particularly popular in Great Britain and Germany was successfully broadcast. The record industry quickly became aware of the singing actors and by 1983 a total of five studio albums were created under the band name "The Kids from Fame". The debut album of the same name rose to number 1 in the UK charts in 1982 , the follow-up The Kids from Fame Again reached number 2 at the end of the year. With Hi Fidelity and Starmaker , two releases of the first long player made it into the UK top 10. In 1983 the album Live! in the top 10 of the UK charts. Subsequently, the success waned and the 1983 albums Songs and Sing for You had to be content with lower charts, Rock 'n Roll World missed a chart listing. Although the series ran until 1987, there were no other recordings .
