The Misfit of Demon King Academy is an anime - TV series of the studio Silverlink shown since July 4, 2020, Japanese television and on the Light-Novel series Mao Gakuin no Futekigōsha based author Shu. Directed by Masafumi Tamura and Shin Ōmura.
The anime follows Anos, who was the demon king in his previous life and after his rebirth visits a school for his descendants.

2,000 years ago, the demon king Anos, tired of war, made a pact with the hero Canon and, while sacrificing his life, separated the worlds of humans , demons , spirits and gods from one another for the next thousand years, so that peace can return .
After his rebirth , Anos, who has received both the powers and the memories of his previous life, attends an academy that is withheld from the descendants of the former Demon King. Because the story about the previous Demon King was passed on incorrectly, Anos is classified as an "outsider", as Anos' answers in the entrance exam were incorrectly rated as incorrect. When one day Ivis - one of the seven conquerors of the demons that arose from Ano's blood - visits school, Anos realizes that someone has manipulated the past .

On October 6, 2019, the production of the anime television series was officially announced as part of the Dengeki Bunko Aki no Namahōsō Festival. It was also announced on the same day that Tatsuhisa Suzuki will speak the main character Anos.
The series is created in the animation studio Silver Link under the direction of Masafumi Tamura and Shin Ōnuma . The character design is by Kazuyuki Yamayoshi based on the illustrations by Yoshinori Shizuma. Jin Tanaka is responsible for the script for the series, while the music is composed by Keiji Inai .
The song in the opening credits is called Seikai Fusaikai and is played by the rock band CIVILIAN . The song, which can be heard in the credits of the series, is called Hamidashimono and is sung by Tomori Kusunoki , who speaks in the anime Misha Necron.
The anime includes thirteen episodes.

It was originally planned that the series should start in Japan in April 2020 , but a broadcast of the anime was postponed by three months in the wake of the COVID-19 pandemic . The first episode was shown on Japanese television on July 4, 2020.
The streaming service Crunchyroll shows the anime in the English-speaking area in the original language with English subtitles. In the German-speaking countries, however, the anime series will be shown in simulcast on Wakanim .
At the beginning of August peppermint anime announced that it had licensed the series and was releasing it in German-speaking countries on DVD and Blu-ray .
