The Murder of My Sweet is a Swedish symphonic metal band.
history
The band was founded in Stockholm in 2006 by drummer Daniel Flores and is currently under contract with Frontline Records . Her single Bleed Me Dry landed at 14th place on the national singles charts in Sweden. In January 2010 the band released their debut album Divanity in Europe , the USA and Japan . In an interview with alternativmusik.de , singer Rylin revealed that the band played an unplugged promo concert in Cologne .
Johan Niemann , who had left the group in the meantime, was replaced by Marcus Bergström, who left the band in April 2011 in order to continue working with his own group. Even Daniel Palmqvist left The Murder of My Sweet. Teddy Westlund ( bass ) and David Sivelind ( guitar ) are the new musicians in the group.
In August 2011 the band signed a contract with AFM Records . The group signed with the German music label after their performance at Wacken Open Air . The album should be released in either December 2011 or spring 2012. On May 25, 2012, Bye Bye Lullaby was the band's second album.
After that, the group remained quiet for several years. On March 14, 2015, the group announced that they had signed on to Frontiers Records , where they released their first album Divanity .
Origin of name
The name is based on the film Murder, My Sweet , which came out in 1944. The band members are big fans of films, especially film noir . Drama , hatred and anger , as well as opposites such as murder and love played a role in the naming. In addition, according to the singer, the name reflects the contrasting taste in music very well.
