Divanity is the debut album by the Swedish hard rock band The Murder of My Sweet . It was released on January 20, 2010 in Japan , a week later in Europe and, since February 8, 2010 , in the USA . The album was produced in the sound vs. Science Studios , founded by Daniel Flores , recorded and released under the Italian label Frontiers Records . The album was mastered by Mats Lindfors. The normal album version contains 12 songs, an exclusive digital version the song Mistaken ( ITunes ), the Japanese version the song At the end , while the song Another Dawn can be played on the homepage .

single

The official single is called Bleed Me Dry and was released at the end of 2009 on the Frontiers Records label. It reached 14th place on the Swedish singles chart. Another exclusive song is Sands of Time , which can only be found on the single. Music videos have also been released for the songs Bleed Me Dry and Follow The Rain .

Reviews (selection)

Musikreviews.de criticizes the band's musical style. He describes that the band could not join bands like Krypteria or Kamelot , because the band could not develop their own style through the bombastic keyboard sound, but would rather remind of other bands. In addition, the lyrics are far below the level. In conclusion, the critic wrote that the album still had something to offer and was well made, even if it lacks its own musical style.

Online retailer RockPapas describes the style as “ Within Temptation meets Hard Rock ” and describes that this album is a successful debut.

Stormbringer.at especially praises the vocals of the front woman Angelica Rylin and describes them as clean and rocky. Bombastic keyboard sounds and the mixture of harmonic melodies are reminiscent of Evanescence , Nightwish and Within Temptation . However, musically, vocally and in terms of content, the band remembers the bands mentioned above, so the critic.

Musikmagazin.at describes the album as successful, although the arrangements are sometimes too thick. Still, the critic is of the opinion that this album could be the next big release. The song Death Of A Movie Star is criticized because, according to critics, it sounds exaggerated.
