history

Nine musicians from Aichach founded "The Sensational Skydrunk Heartbeat Orchestra" on February 6, 2005 and shortly afterwards the orchestra recorded their first EP Having A Pretty Long Band Name We Decided To Take A Short One For This EP But Damn! It didn't work out on. After many live shows, including the Rototom Sunsplash Festival in Udine, the group recorded their first single Don't Worry, Be Happy .

In 2009 the album Grown was released on Rookie Records with the single Feet They Hardly Touch the Ground . With this single, the band managed to get airplay on stations like Bayern 3 , FM4 , egoFM and on3 . In the same year the band also played on the main stage of the Passau Whitsun Open Air. In 2010 the band opened the Taubertal Festival .

In 2011 the second studio album Hinterland was released and a first tour through Germany (Hanover, Cologne, Potsdam, Dresden, Hamburg, Nuremberg) took place. Over 40 concerts were played this year, including the anti-nuclear demonstration on Odeonsplatz in Munich with over 30,000 listeners. In the following year, after appearances at various festivals, u. a. the Tollwood in Munich, in late summer 2012 the EP Tainted Love was presented.

After many concerts in 2013, for example at the Modular Festival in Augsburg, the Sensational Skydrunk Heartbeat Orchestra has been devoting itself to their third album since the beginning of 2014, which was recorded in the Klangwasser Studios. In August some of the songs from the new album were presented at the Stereowald Festival. The recording sessions in the studio followed in September. The year ended with two appearances at the Tollwood Festival in Munich and a Ska Xmas event with Skaos in the Musikkantine disco in the Reese barracks in Augsburg.
