The Skulls II is an American thriller from 2002 and a sequel to the thriller The Skulls from 2000. Directed by Joe Chappelle , the script was written by Hans Rodionoff and Michele Colucci-Zieger .

action

The student Ryan Sommers joins the secret society The Skulls , which he hopes will offer better career opportunities. He later sees a woman falling from the roof of the organization's building. The death of the woman is portrayed in public as a traffic accident. Sommers' girlfriend, Ali, accuses him of abuse and leaves him. Kelly, who lives with Ali, helps Sommers prove his innocence.

Reviews

The lexicon of international films wrote that the film mobilized “the myth of secret societies in a formulaic and with little tension” and wrapped itself in a supposedly threatening campus atmosphere” .

The magazine TV Spielfilm 8/2008 wrote that the film was a "very formulaic campus thriller" . It is "probably the biggest secret" why the third part followed.

Awards

Lindy Booth received the DVD Exclusive Award in 2003 ; Joe Chappelle, Steve Danyluk, Stephen Lawrence and special effects specialist Peter Hunt were nominated for the same award. Steve Danyluk was nominated for the Canadian Society of Cinematographers Award in 2003 . The film was nominated for a 2003 Golden Reel Award from the US Motion Picture Sound Editors .
