The Slap is an American television series. The series is an adaptation of the novel Nur eine Ohrfeige (OT. The Slap ) by the author Christos Tsiolkas as well as from his Australian television adaptation The Slap . The adaptation moves the storyline of the series to the United States in New York City . Melissa George plays the same role in the series as in the Australian version.
content
The miniseries revolves around the aftermath of a middle-aged town clerk's birthday party at which the adult Harry beats a child, Hugo, after Hugo kicked Harry in the leg. Hugo's mother, Rosie, insists on a criminal complaint claiming that Harry's blow caused Hugo to suffer from post-traumatic stress disorder. Although Rosie's self-diagnosis is later invalidated when Hugo mentions how much he misses seeing Harry, the case goes to court. Each episode tells the story from a different character's perspective.
reception
According to Felix Böhme from the industry portal Serienjunkies.de , the US network NBC is trying to adapt the series The Slap "to a calmly narrated quality drama, but fails on several levels." admittedly worth seeing cast has to work through extremely wooden dialogues. ".
