Penn Dayton Badgley (born November 1, 1986 in Baltimore , Maryland ) is an American actor best known for his roles in Shadow of Passion , Do Over - Back to the 80s and Gossip Girl .

Life

Penn Badgley grew up in Richmond in the US state of Virginia and Seattle in Washington on. He played at the Seattle Children's Theater and did some dubbing for a children's radio station. It was through this work that he discovered his passion for acting.

After taking the California High School Proficiency Exam at the age of 14, he studied at Santa Monica College in Los Angeles for two years . He was then accepted to the University of Southern California ; however, the beginning of his studies will be postponed until further notice due to his acting activities.

In 2001 he was nominated for a Young Artist Award in the category Best Performance in a Daytime TV Series - Young Actor for his role in Shadow of Passion . From 2007 to 2012, he was in The CW - Youth series Gossip Girl in the role as Dan Humphrey to see. In the 2011 film Greetings from Tim Buckley directed by Dan Algrant, he took on the role of Jeff Buckley including the vocal parts.

Private

From 2007 to 2010 he was in a relationship with his colleague Blake Lively , from 2011 to 2013 with the actress Zoë Kravitz .

Badgley has an older half-sister with whom he has no sibling contact. In addition to acting, Badgley also devotes himself to music: he sings, writes songs and plays the guitar. He also hosted the 2010 Video Music Awards in Los Angeles with Chelsea Handler, among others .

Badgley lives in New York . He married the singer Domino Kirke on February 28, 2017. He is committed to the Baha'i faith.
