The World Wars is a six-part television docu-drama that focuses on the two world wars and the interwar period. "The World Wars" was broadcast on May 26, 2014 on the US History Channel as a world premiere. The information channel N24 showed the docu-drama on three consecutive evenings in double episodes from October 6, 2014 onwards in German for the first time. In 2014 “The World Wars” will be shown in 160 countries.

The docu-drama films the two great wars of the 20th century. What distinguishes them is the mixture of dramatically staged, historically verifiable scenes, archive material and expert interviews. The experts include historians and authors as well as political figures such as the Republican US Senator John McCain , the former British Prime Minister John Major and the former Prime Minister of Italy , Mario Monti .

The production company Stephen David Entertainment produced "The World Wars" for the History Channel, France Télévisions and N24. Stephen David Entertainment won two Emmy Awards in 2013 for the documentary series The Men Who Built America.

"The World Wars" was nominated in three categories at this year's Primetime Emmy Awards.

The world premiere of "The World Wars" on the History Channel was announced with a pre-recorded message from US President Barack Obama .
