The Theel is a brook in the central Saarland .

Geographical course

The Theel rises from a headwaters in Theley at 403  m above sea level. NN and flows through the place partly as surface water and tributary of the pond system in Theleyer Brühlpark, partly as a cased brook. Between Theley and the hamlet of Leitzweiler , it is fed by a stream that has its source at 503  m above sea level. NN near the Schaumberger Hof has. The Mühlenbach flows into the Theel at Leitzweiler . At the confluence of the country road to Hasborn , the Brühlbach flows into the Theel. It then flows through the small outlying settlement of Lachmühle, where the Hoschbach flows from the western slope of the Schaumberg. In its further course, the flows Theel by Weiler and Sotzweiler where Kürtzbach and Baechel open. Running in a south-westerly direction, it reaches Thalexweiler , where the Steinbach flows, and the town of Aschbach , where the Aschbach flows into the stream . It takes between Bubach-Calmesweiler and Lebach at 220  m above sea level. NN as the largest flowing water on the Ill . Now running to the west, the Theel crosses Lebach. There several streams flow into the Theel, for example the Saubach , the Mertzenfloß and the Mandelbach . Before Körprich the Theel finally flows to 217  m above sea level. NN in the prims .

Freed of waste water, the water quality of the Theel since the expansion of the sewage in the Theel-neighboring and -Zubringerdörfern Theley, Hasborn, Weiler, Tholey and Sotzweiler and after commissioning has EVS south steadily improved -Kläranlage of Sotzweiler. Beavers from the Ill system immigrated to the Theel and were sighted upstream to Bergweiler.
