Theophil Pfister (2007)

Theophil Pfister (born July 16, 1942 in Uster ; † August 6, 2012 in Schwellbrunn ; resident in Uster) was a Swiss politician ( SVP ). From 1999 to 2011 he was a member of the National Council .

Life

Theophil Pfister was president of SVP Untertoggenburg from 1997 to 2000, from 2007 to 2012 he was president of the SVP local party of Flawil and was head of SVP senior citizens. He was elected to the National Council in the 1999 parliamentary elections. There he was a member of the Finance Commission and the Commission for Science, Education and Culture. He was also President of the Switzerland- Israel Parliamentary Group . In the 2003 elections to the Council of States , he ran unsuccessfully for the SVP. Pfister was no longer a candidate for the 2011 National Council elections; he wanted to make way for younger party members.

Pfister was married and had three children. He worked as a subject teacher and computer scientist and most recently lived in Schwellbrunn .
