The Thermenstadion Bad Waltersdorf is a football facility in the Austrian market town of Bad Waltersdorf . The community-run venue, built in 2002, was specifically designed as a training ground for professional and national teams and designed by the architect Gerhard Mitterberger. It also serves as a home ground for the local association TUS RAIBA Heiltherme Bad Waltersdorf .

Stadium infrastructure

The Thermenstadion consists of the main grandstand with a capacity of approx. 400 people and can be extended to up to 3,600 seats with temporary grandstands. There are also three training grounds, two of which are floodlit and conform to international UEFA dimensions (105 × 68 m), as well as a weight room.

Use at training camps and test matches

Due to the favorable location and the nearby spa baths (Heiltherme Bad Waltersdorf or Rogner Bad Blumau) as well as the very well-equipped nearby Hotel Falkensteiner and the quiet training conditions, the thermal stadium is used annually for training camps for international and national top teams. The organization of these training camps is taken over annually by the agency International Football Camp Styria (IFCS) supported by the state of Styria .

The teams who have already visited the facility include:

  • Poland (2008)
  • Czech Republic (2012)
