Thomas Damian (born August 30, 1984 in Bozen ) is a former Italian natural track luge . He started in a single-seater and achieved two top 10 placements in the World Cup and international junior championships.

Career

From 2000 Damian took part in the Junior European Championships three times . He achieved his best result in 2003 in Kreuth when he was eighth in the single-seater. Things went better for him the next year when he took part in a junior world championship for the only time in Kindberg and was fifth in the single-seater. Damian only took part in title decisions in the general class. At the 2002 European Championships in Frantschach-Sankt Gertraud , he finished 24th. For the 2003 World Championships , he was registered, but did not take part in the competition.

After Damian had achieved second place overall in the Intercontinental Cup in the 2001/2002 season and at the same time first place in his age group, he started in the World Cup from the 2002/2003 season . In his first World Cup race on December 22, 2002, he reached tenth place in the parallel competition in Völs . With four more top 15 results, he finished 13th in the overall World Cup. In the 2003/2004 season he only competed in two World Cup races. After a 15th place at the start in Olang , he achieved his best placement in the World Cup on January 18, 2004 with eighth place in Garmisch-Partenkirchen . In the winter of 2004/2005 he was not in the first two races, but only started in the double world cup in Oberperfuss . After finishing eleventh in the first race, he had a bad fall in the second and suffered an ankle injury . After that, Damian no longer started in the World Cup. In the next two years he took part in races in the Intercontinental Cup, and at the beginning of the 2006/2007 season he achieved second place in Moos in Passeier . After 2007, the South Tyrolean did not take part in any competitions in the Intercontinental Cup.
