Thomas Friess (born January 3, 1985 in Bad Radkersburg ) is an Austrian football player on the position of a defender in central defense . He currently plays at SV Horn in the second-class 2nd division .

Career

Friess began his active career as a football player at SV Halbenrain in what is now the Styrian district of Southeast Styria . In 2000 he came to SK Sturm Graz , where he made his first professional appearance on the combat team in the 2004/05 season . He made his debut on May 29, 2005 in the 3-1 away win against SV Mattersburg , where he was substituted for Gernot Suppan in the 58th minute of the game . In total, he came to four appearances for the Bundesliga team. Furthermore, Friess played from 2007 to 2008 for the amateur team of Graz in the Regionalliga Mitte for which he was used in 20 games and scored one goal. In the summer break before the 2008/09 season, Friess transferred to DSV Leoben in the second-class first league and stayed with the Upper Styrians, with whom he was subsequently in , even after notification of a transfer to SKN St. Pölten and a trial training at SK Austria Carinthia the third class was falling. In January 2010 he moved from the Regionalliga back to the First League, where he signed with TSV Hartberg .
