Thomas Joseph Mardaga

Thomas Joseph Mardaga (born May 14, 1913 in Baltimore , † May 28, 1984 ) was an American clergyman and bishop of Wilmington .

Life

Thomas Joseph Mardaga was ordained a priest for the Archdiocese of Baltimore-Washington on May 14, 1940 .

Pope Paul VI appointed him on December 9, 1966 auxiliary bishop in Baltimore and titular bishop of Mutugenna . The Archbishop of Baltimore, Lawrence Cardinal Shehan , ordained him episcopal on January 25 of the following year ; Co- consecrators were John Joyce Russell , Bishop of Richmond , and Thomas Austin Murphy , Auxiliary Bishop of Baltimore.

Pope Paul VI appointed him Bishop of Wilmington on March 9, 1968 .
