Thomas Kiessling

Thomas Kiessling (born July 19, 1962 in Trier ) is a German concert singer .

He was musically influenced from an early age by his grandfather, who was a conductor . His father, an organist , supported him in his plan to become a singer. At the age of six, Thomas Kiessling performed in the children's choir of the Trier Theater .

Thomas Kiessling studied from 1983 to 1989 at the Frankfurt University of Music and Performing Arts and taught singing, ballet and physical education there from 1986 to 1989. From 1998 to 2003 Kiessling was a member of the vocal trio The Young Tenors .

Concerts and guest performances a. a. in New York ( Carnegie Hall ), Vienna ( State Opera ), Salzburg ( Festspielhaus ) and Bregenz ( Seebühne ) are components of his career so far. His repertoire includes works such as Rigoletto , Tosca , La Bohème , Magic Flute , The Abduction from the Seraglio and many oratorios , concert literature and songs.

Thomas Kiessling has worked in various radio and television productions. The German Grammophon produced u with him. a. The Abduction from the Seraglio and La Bohème.

His older brother, Michael Kiessling († 2019), who lives in Berlin, was also musically active. He was the singer of the ensembles Bukowski Waits For You and New Glass from Old Shards .
