Thomas Marschler

Thomas Marschler (born October 21, 1969 in Düsseldorf ) is a German Roman Catholic priest and theologian and Professor of Dogmatics at the Catholic Theological Faculty of the University of Augsburg .

Life

After studying Catholic theology , philosophy and history in the years 1989-1994 in Bonn and Munich he received in 1996 by the Archbishop of Cologne, Joachim Cardinal Meisner , the ordination . In 2003 he was at Karl-Heinz Menke at the University of Bonn to Dr. theol. and in 2005 at the University of Flensburg as Dr. phil. PhD. In 2007 he completed his habilitation with Wendelin Knoch at the Catholic-Theological Faculty of the Ruhr University Bochum . Marschler has been the successor to Anton Ziegenau's university professor for dogmatics at the University of Augsburg since August 2007 . Together with Thomas Schärtl, he has been publishing the Studies on Systematic Theology, Ethics and Philosophy (STEP) since 2014 . In addition to systematic topics, he also researches the history of theology in the Baroque era.
