Wendelin Knoch

Wendelin Knoch (born August 20, 1943 in Bonn ) is a German clergyman in the Archdiocese of Cologne and emeritus professor of dogmatics and the history of dogma at the Ruhr University in Bochum .

Life

Knoch studied in Bonn , Munich , Münster and Rome . He was ordained a priest on July 2, 1969 and was initially employed as a subsidiary at special disposal in the Dean's office in Bonn-South and then as chaplain to St. Sebastian in Bonn-Poppelsdorf.

In 1977 he was Vice Rector of the Campo Santo Teutonico in Rome. On September 1, 1978 he took on an assistant position at the Rheinische Friedrich-Wilhelms-Universität Bonn . In 1983 he was released to his teaching in the subject fundamental theology at the Theological Faculty of Paderborn to start. From 1991 to 2008 Knoch held the professorship for dogmatics and the history of dogma at the Catholic-Theological Faculty of the Ruhr-Universität Bochum.

In addition, he has been the Prior of the Essen Commandery of the Order of the Knights of the Holy Sepulcher in Jerusalem since 1993 and as the President of the local Kolping Family in his home town of Hattingen since 1994 .

Knoch has been a member of the Catholic student associations Arminia Bonn and K.St.V. Albertia Munich in KV .
