Thomas Middleditch (born March 10, 1982 in Nelson , British Columbia ) is a Canadian actor , comedian and screenwriter . He achieved great fame in 2014 for his role as Richard Hendriks in the HBO series Silicon Valley .

life and career

Middleditch was born in Nelson, British Columbia. Since 2009 he has appeared in around 60 film and television productions.

Middleditch played his first leading role in the love comedy Splinterheads in 2009 , where he played Justin Frost. Since this success he has appeared in various roles in films, such as in the youth film Fun Size - Trick or Treat and the comedy Die Spoiled for Choice . He also played a few guest roles in television series such as The Office and Trophy Wife . In 2013 he had a minor supporting role in the biopic The Wolf of Wall Street . Since 2014 he has played the leading role of Richard Hendricks in the HBO sitcom Silicon Valley . In 2017 he was heard in the original of Captain Underpants - The great first film .
