From 1996 he was a master student with Ralf Kerbach from the HfBK Dresden. In 1995 he had his first exhibition in the gallery Gebrüder Lehmann in Dresden. Together with Tino Sehgal , he designed the German pavilion at the 51st Venice Biennale from June 12 to November 6, 2005.

plant

In his paintings, sculptures and drawings, Thomas Scheibitz deals with the pictorial possibilities of abstraction and figuration, the categorization of which he dissolves in his own visual language. Scheibitz's investigations concentrate on the interrelationship between pictorial and linguistic information, which he takes up with elements from architecture, landscape and heraldry as well as from motifs from the contemporary imagery of the media, advertising, comics, and theater and film sets . An important topic is the relationship of the subject to reality and how this is influenced by visual messages. He examines the constructibility of landscapes, portraits, still lifes and logos, pictograms and initials using representations from the visual language known from art history.
