Thomas CON (* 9. February 1994 in Bludenz ) is an Austrian luger .
Career
As a 10-year-old, Thomas Steu started on the toboggan run in his birthplace Bludenz for the first time. At 14 he was accepted into the junior national team. After Sporthauptschule Nüziders STEU switched to Sportgymnasium to Dornbirn .
Youth Olympic Winter Games 2012
He started in January 2012 at the Winter Youth Olympic Games in Innsbruck in a two-seater with the Tyrolean Lorenz Koller and finished sixth.
At the 2014 Junior Luge World Championships in Igls , he became the junior double world champion in the doubles and team competition. In the summer of 2014 he was accepted into the national team and since April 2016 he has been training at the Dornbirn Army Training Center.
He finished sixth at the 2016 Luge World Championships and fourth in the two-seater sprint in 2017 . In 2017 he was also U23 world champion and vice-European champion in doubles with Lorenz Koller.
Olympic Winter Games 2018
Thomas Steu started at the 2018 Winter Olympics and finished fourth with Lorenz Koller on February 14 in the South Korean city of Pyeongchang .
On November 24, 2018, Steu and Koller celebrated their first World Cup victory in Igls .
At the European Championships of Artificial Track Luge in Lillehammer , Thomas Steu and his partner Lorenz Koller won the silver medal in January 2020. A week later he broke his tibia and fibula while training at the end of the month.
