2019/20

The 2018/19 Luge World Cup was held in nine World Cup races in six countries. It was the 41st edition of the Luge World Cup since it was first held in 1977/78 . Six races in the team relay world cup and three races in the sprint world cup were held as part of the nine world cup races. The highlight of the season was the 2019 Luge World Championships in Winterberg .

The defending champions of the overall World Cup were the Germans Felix Loch (men's singles), Natalie Geisenberger (women singles) and Toni Eggert and Sascha Benecken (doubles). Germany won the team relay world cup in winter 2017/18. In the sprint world cup, the Austrian Wolfgang Kindl won the men, the German Natalie Geisenberger won the women and the Latvian two-seater Andris and Juris Šics .

As part of the World Cup, the continental championships were also held in so-called race-in-race races for scheduling reasons:

Points

The scoring system for the World and Nations Cup is similar. The first 40 tobogganists, descending from the maximum number of points 100, receive one point at rank 40. All ranks after 40th place are also counted and receive one point as long as the athletes have reached the finish.
