Thomas Vogel (politician)
Thomas Vogel (born January 18, 1972 in Zurich ) is a Swiss politician of the FDP. The Liberals . He has been a member of the Zurich Cantonal Council since 2003 and was President of the FDP cantonal parliamentary group from 2008 to 2019 . In 2019 he was elected to the government council, but left as redundant.
biography
Thomas Vogel grew up in Dietlikon and Illnau-Effretikon . In 1991 he completed the Matura type B at the Rychenberg Cantonal School and, after completing his military service , studied law at the University of Zurich from 1993 . In 1998 he graduated with a licentiate .
Thomas Vogel works as a member of the court management at the Zurich District Court and is Vice President of the Board of Trustees of the Eleonoren Foundation (responsible for the University Children's Hospital Zurich). He is married and lives in Thalwil.

Thomas Vogel has been a member of the FDP since 1989 The Liberals. As such, he founded the young liberals Illnau-Effretikon in 1991, which had been represented with up to three members in the city parliament, the large municipal council , since 1994 and also provided a city council for several years .
In 1994, at the age of 22, he was elected to the large municipal council of the city of Illnau-Effretikon, in which he was a member of the business audit committee. In 2001/2002 he presided over the municipal parliament, to which he was a member until 2008 after his election to the cantonal council .
As part of the general renewal elections in 2003, Thomas Vogel was elected to the Cantonal Council for the Pfäffikon district and confirmed in 2007, 2011, 2015 and 2019. He was then a member and vice-president of the cantonal commission for justice and public security until 2008 and was a member of the management of the cantonal council since his election as FDP parliamentary group president in 2008 (until 2019).
Thomas Vogel is u. a. since 2004 member of the board of the FDP of the canton of Zurich , since 2020 as vice-president, and of the executive committee of the ACS section Zurich. He is also a board member of the Zurich Rehabilitation Centers Foundation.
