Thomas Wulstan Pearson OSB (born January 4, 1870 in Preston , Lancashire , † December 1, 1938 ibid) was a British religious and Roman Catholic Bishop of Lancaster .

Life

Thomas Wulstan Pearson visited the College of Benedictines in Douai . In 1887 he moved to the College of Downside Abbey . After that, Pearson entered the Belmont Abbey of the Congregation of the Benedictines in and put on 12 December 1890, the simple profession from. In 1893 he returned to Downside Abbey as a teacher. In March 1894 Thomas Wulstan Pearson made his solemn profession. He received on 26 September 1897 in the Church of Downside Abbey by the Bishop of Clifton , William Robert Bernard Brownlow , the sacrament of Holy Orders . In 1912 Thomas Wulstan Pearson became vicar of St. Mary's Parish in Liverpool . In September 1916 he became prior of Ealing Priory .

On December 19, 1924, Pope Pius XI appointed him . to the first bishop of Lancaster. The Archbishop of Liverpool , Frederick William Keating , donated to him on February 24, 1925 in the Cathedral of Lancaster , the episcopal ordination ; Co-consecrators were the auxiliary bishop at Westminster , Joseph Butt , and the auxiliary bishop at Liverpool, Robert Dobson .
