The Thunbach (also Tuebach or Tuembach ; in the local dialect : [ ˈtuəbaxˑ ]) is a 9 km long brook in the Frauenfeld district of the Swiss canton of Thurgau .

It rises above the Getschhuuserweiers (also Wetzikerweier ) near Wetzikon as Altbach , which joins the other Quellbach coming from Lustdorf near Thundorf . In its further course, the Thunbach flows around the hamlet of Halingen in a loop and forms an almost 2 km long forest gorge (Haalinger Tobel) . In the village center of Matzingen it flows into the Leek from the right .

The brook was first mentioned in a document in 1433 ( touching bach den nempt Tůan , and away towards Frǒwenfäld ). The name could belong to mhd. Tuom ‹power, domination (area), possession› and could be interpreted as ‚Grenz (bach) '. The Halinger Tobel was formerly called Dingenharter Tobel .
