Thurnsdorf (until 2013 Thurnstorf ) is a cadastral municipality of the municipality of St. Valentin in the district of Amstetten in Lower Austria .
The place is called Thurnsdorf, but the associated cadastral municipality is Thurnstorf until 2013. Because with the 4267th ordinance of the Federal Office for Metrology and Surveying, the spelling was changed from Thurnstorf to Thurnsdorf. This ordinance came into force on December 1, 2013.
Settlement development
At the turn of the year 1979/1980 there were a total of 503 building areas with 115,681 m² and 959 gardens on 1,097,473 m² in the cadastral municipality of Thurnsdorf, in 1989/1990 there were 1,061 building areas. In 1999/2000 the number of building areas had grown to 2,111 and in 2009/2010 there were 1,365 buildings on 2,633 building areas.
Agriculture
The cadastral community is characterized by agriculture. 760 hectares were used for agriculture at the turn of the year 1979/1980 and 234 hectares were forest areas. In 1999/2000 agriculture was carried out on 772 hectares and 241 hectares were designated as areas used for forestry. At the end of 2018, 679 hectares were used as agricultural land and forestry was carried out on 249 hectares. The average soil climate of Thurnsdorf is 41 (as of 2010).
