Player career

In 1978 Ehle was accepted into the children's team of 1. FC Magdeburg and then went through all age groups of the FCM youngsters. As a junior player he came to an international match with the U-18 national team of the GDR. On March 18, 1989 he was used as an 18-year-old for the first time in the FCM's league team. In the match of the 16th matchday 1. FCM - Stahl Brandenburg (5: 0) he came in for the not ready Detlef Schößler and played the full 90 minutes as a Libero . This season he was called up a total of three times in the league. With the FCM junior team, he was East German champion in 1989.

For the 1989/90 season, FCM officially nominated Ehle for its league team as a midfielder. In this season Ehle came in 15 league league games for use. In 1989 Ehle was appointed to the GDR's Olympic team, with which he played several test matches. Even before the start of the qualifying games for the 1992 Olympics, the team was withdrawn in the course of German reunification . In the 1990/91 season it was important for the FCM to qualify for the 1st or 2nd Bundesliga. During this important period, the 1.81 m tall Ehle did not get the chance to play, he only played six top division games. However, he came to another international assignment. On November 6, 1990, he was in the starting eleven of the FCM for 57 minutes in the UEFA Cup game at Girondins Bordeaux (0-1 defeat). The FCM could not qualify for the Bundesliga, and so Ehle had to play in the following season 1991/92 in the third-class amateur league Northeast . There he was finally able to gain a foothold in the first team of the FCM and played 28 of the 38 point games. After further positions at VfL Germania Leer , VfB Oldenburg, Lüneburger SK and SC Weyhe , he ended his career in 2002.

He also took part in the first main round of the DFB Cup with VfB Oldenburg, where he lost 2-1 to Hamburger SV after a strong performance . After the hoped-for successes in the Lower Saxony league did not materialize, Ehle resigned from his position as coach at the end of October 2011. He will remain with VfB Oldenburg as head of the youth performance center. Since summer 2014 he has been coach of the first men at BW Bümmerstede in Oldenburg.
