Tina Karol ( Ukrainian Тіна Кароль , scientific transliteration Tina Karol ' , eigtl. Тетяна Григорівна Ліберман , Tetjana Hryhoriwna Liberman ; born January 25, 1985 in Orotukan , Soviet Union ) is a Ukrainian singer.

Career

Under her real name Tetjana Liberman , she took part in the preliminary rounds of the Ukrainian preliminary decision for the Eurovision Song Contest in 2005 with the song "Moshet bit da" , without qualifying for the final. Despite this first defeat, she soon became a national star under her stage name "Tina Karol". Through appearances in Russia and the “New Wave” festival in Jūrmala / Latvia , she also made a name for herself outside of Ukraine. Due to their great popularity, their participation in the casting show "Ti-Zirka" / "You are a star", which was actually intended for "beginners", initially not only aroused enthusiasm. However, she convinced both with her vocal abilities and her stage presence. As expected, she reached the final, where she presented her Eurovision contribution “I am your queen” and relegated the other competitors Irina Rozenfeld (“You give me your love”) and Kirill Turichenko (“Boom-Box”) to places 2 and 3. After her victory, the song was rewritten by DJ Pasha ( Pawlo Schilko , moderator of ESC 2005) and performed as “Show me your love” in the semifinals and finals of the 51st Eurovision Song Contest 2006 in Athens / Greece. Tina Karol reached 7th place in the final with 145 points, the third-best result for Ukraine after Ruslana Lyschytschko (2004) and Verka Serduchka (2007). With this she secured her country the qualification for the ESC final 2007 in Helsinki / Finland. In 2006 her first CD show Me Your Love was released , on which u. a. your ESC contribution is also located.

After completing her studies at the renowned Glière University of Music in Kiev, Karol started her career in 2003 as a singer in the song and dance ensemble of the Ukrainian armed forces. One of the high points of her artistic career so far was the troop support service of the “coalition of the willing” in Iraq. In 2004, she was also elected Beauty Queen of the Ukrainian region of Galicia . In addition to her singing career, she is enrolled at the national aircraft factory university via distance learning and is aiming for a degree in management and logistics .

In 2014 she was a coach at The Voice Kids Ukraine.
