Slata Ohnewytsch ( Ukrainian and Russian Злата Огневич, real name: Inna Leonidiwna Bordjuh , Ukrainian: Інна Леонідівна Бордюг ; born January 12, 1986 in Murmansk , Soviet Union ) is a Ukrainian pop singer .

Life

Ohnewytsch took part in the Ukrainian preselection for the Eurovision Song Contest several times : in 2010 she came fifth with the title Tiny Island and in 2011 she came second with The Kukushka . In the pre-selection for the Eurovision Song Contest 2013 on December 23, 2012 in Kiev , which was broadcast live in the Perschyj Natsionalnyj , she won against 18 competitors with the ethno-pop song Gravity . At the competition in Malmö , Ukraine came third out of 39 participating countries. During her performance she was carried on stage by Igor Vovkovinskiy, the tallest living person in the USA at 235 cm. Slata Ohnewytsch moderated the Junior Eurovision Song Contest 2013 in Kiev with Timur Miroschnytschenko . At the Eurovision Song Contest 2014 and 2017 she read the Ukrainian points.

Until the annexation of Crimea by Russia , Ohnewytsch lived in Sudak in the Crimea .

She came fourth in the Ukrainian parliamentary elections in October 2014 on the list of the Radical Party of Oleh Lyashko and was elected to the Verkhovna Rada , a year later she resigned from her seat.
