Tiril Sjåstad Christiansen (born April 7, 1995 in Geilo ) is a Norwegian freestyle skier . She starts in the disciplines halfpipe , slopestyle and big air .

Career

Sjåstad Christiansen has been participating in FIS and AFP World Tour competitions since 2011 . She made her debut in the World Cup at Kreischberg in January 2011 and finished fourth in the halfpipe competition. At the 2011 Freestyle Skiing World Championships in Park City , she came in 13th place on the halfpipe and eighth place in slopestyle . In January 2012 she won the silver medal in the halfpipe competition at the Winter Youth Olympic Games in Kühtai . Two months later she won silver in slopestyle at the Junior World Championships in Chiesa in Valmalenco . At the beginning of the 2012/13 season, she won the New Zealand Freeski Open in Cardrona on the halfpipe. Later in the season she won her first World Cup in Silvaplana . At the Winter X Games 2013 in Aspen she won gold in Slopestyle and at the Winter X Games Europe 2013 in Tignes she won the silver medal in Slopestyle. In February 2013 she reached eleventh place in slopestyle at the Freestyle Skiing World Championships in Voss . She finished the season in second place in the Slopestyle World Cup, second place in the AFP Slopestyle classification and first place in the AFP World Tour overall classification. In August 2013 she won the Slopestyle World Cup in Cardrona and the New Zealand Freeski Open in Cardrona . In the 2014/15 season, which she finished in second place in the Slopestyle World Cup, she finished third in the World Cup in Park City and first place in Silvaplana. That same season she also won the European Freeski Open in Laax . In April 2015 she became Norwegian champion in the disciplines of slopestyle and big air . At the beginning of the 2015/16 season she won her fourth World Cup in Cardrona . This was followed by a second place in slopestyle at the Winter Dew Tour in Breckenridge . At the Winter X Games 2016 in Aspen , she won the silver medal in slopestyle. In February 2016 she took third place in Big Air at the World Cup and US Grand Prix in Boston and won the Slopestyle World Cup at Bokwang Phoenix Park in Pyeongchang . At the X-Games Oslo 2016 in Oslo , she won the gold medal in Big Air. She finished the season in third place in the overall World Cup and in first place in the Slopestyle World Cup. In April 2016 she became Norwegian champion in slopestyle and big air and in April 2018 in slopestyle. In the 2017/18 season she took third place in Font Romeu and first place in Slopestyle in Mammoth and thus achieved sixth place in the Slopestyle World Cup. At the 2018 Winter Olympics in Pyeongchang, she was ninth in slopestyle. In April 2018 she won the bronze medal in Big Air at the X-Games Norway in Fornebu .
