Tito Buss

Tito Buss (born September 1, 1925 in São Ludgero , † April 30, 2013 in Rio do Sul ) was a Brazilian clergyman and Roman Catholic bishop of Rio do Sul .

Life

Tito Buss studied philosophy at the Mariana seminary (MG) from 1945 to 1947 and theology at the seminary in São Leopoldo (RS) from 1948 to 1951. He was ordained a priest on December 8, 1951 . He was pastor at the São Francisco Xavier Cathedral in Joinville and Professor of Dogmatics at the Theological Institute for Curitiba (Instituto Teológico de Curitiba). In the state capital was the pastor of the parish of Santo Agostinho .

Pope Paul VI appointed him on March 12, 1969 first bishop of the newly established diocese of Rio do Sul. The Archbishop of Florianópolis , Alfonso Niehues , donated him episcopal ordination on August 3 of the same year ; Co- consecrators were Gregório Warmeling , Bishop of Joinville , and Wilson Laus Schmidt , Bishop Emeritus of Chapecó .

On August 30, 2000, Pope John Paul II accepted his age-related resignation.
