Tobias A. Schliessler

Tobias A. Schliessler (born November 5, 1958 in Baden-Baden ) is a German cameraman .

Life

Tobias Schliessler is the son of the documentary filmmaker and artist Martin Schliessler (1929–2008). His brother Jochen is a documentary filmmaker, his sister Tina is a photographer and illustrator.

He grew up in Baden-Baden. Schliessler's family emigrated to Vancouver , Canada in 1979 , where he later studied at Simon Fraser University . After graduating as a cameraman, he made documentaries, commercials and independent films before starting to work increasingly for Canadian television from the late 1980s. He moved to Los Angeles in 1997, where he has since worked as a cameraman for films such as Dreamgirls , Hancock and Battleship . He made several films each with directors Bill Condon and Peter Berg . He is a member of the American Society of Cinematographers .

Schliessler is the father of the actress Aisha Jau .
