Tom Blancarte

Tom Blancarte (* 1979 ) is an American jazz and improvisation musician ( double bass , electric bass , euphonium ).

Blancarte graduated from the University of North Texas . After completing his Bachelor in Jazz Performance (2002), he moved to New York and worked in the local jazz scene there from the mid-2000s. a. with Adam Caine , Dan Peck , George Steeltoe , Peter Evans and Brandon Seabrook . He also played in a duo with his wife Louise Dam Eckardt Jensen ( The Home of Easy Credit , 2012), with Andrew Drury and Bruce Eisenbeil in the Trio Totem , with Brian Osborne and Dan Peck in the Trio The Gate and in the Danish post-punk improvisation quartet Sweet Banditry . In his Tom Blancarte Quartet he worked with bassists Thomas Helton , Damon Smith and Ingebrigt Håker Flaten . Blancarte lives in Toftlund (Denmark) and in New York City, where he teaches and also performs as a soloist.
