Bruce Eisenbeil

Bruce Eisenbeil (* 21st August 1963 in Chicago ) is an American jazz guitarist and composer of modern creative .

Bruce Eisenbeil grew up in Plainfield, New Jersey and started playing guitar when he was four. At the age of 15 he made his first professional appearances. Initially self-taught , he later took lessons from Joe Pass , Howard Roberts , Joe Diorio and Dennis Sandole . In the 1980s he played in rhythm and blues bands as well as with Jeff Buckley and Paul Gilbert .
In 1992 he went on a three-week tour of Brazil ; he has lived and worked in New York City since 1995 . During his career (he also worked as a mechanic) he played a. a. with Cecil Taylor , David Murray , Evan Parker , Rob Brown , Ellery Eskelin , Steve Swell , Karl Berger , William Parker , Kent Carter , Lisle Ellis , Milford Graves , Badal Roy , Andrew Cyrille , Jay Rosen , William Hooker and Lou Grassi . In 1997 he recorded his debut album Nine Wings in a trio with Rob Brown and Lou Grassi on the avant-garde label CIMP ; Eisenbeil then released a number of other albums under his own name, including a. on labels like ESP-Disk , Konnex Records , Cadence Jazz Records , CIMP and Nine Winds. In 2006 he performed at the Montreal Jazz Festival and the Silent Art Festival in Bochum .
