Tom Kiely (actually Thomas Francis Kiely ; born August 25, 1869 in Ballyneal near Carrick-on-Suir in County Tipperary , † November 6, 1951 in Dublin ) was an Irish athlete .

Kiely became Olympic champion in an all-round competition at the 1904 Olympic Games in St. Louis, a forerunner of today's decathlon . This competition was held a few months before the actual Olympic Games, so Kiely was not rated as an Olympic champion . Kiely started for the United Kingdom of Great Britain and Ireland at the time .

It was not until the 1950s that Kiely was subsequently declared an Olympic champion by the IOC following research by an Irish journalist .
